Marshall

1 aprile 2010

Maybe you think that photography makes immortal. Surely Mr. Jim Mashall shots preserve the memoir of so many stars, from Jimi Hendrix to Janis Joplin, from Jim Morrison to Johnny Cash, who told something about themselves, in front the camera, before the final farewell.

Mr. Marshall, photo-reporter, portraitist, icon of image-journalism is died, at age of 74, in Manhattan, some days after the publication of “Match Prints”, an intensive and ingenious volume of photographs, where his images are “matched” with Timothy White’s works: an interesting head-to-head betwen two friends, colleagues, artists.

Ligneroset

30 marzo 2010

I’m looking for a new desk: I have not one, here in my home, I write and work on a rounder Saarinen for Knoll that we choosed as dining table. When I saw this tiny bureau, designed in sixties by Mr. Pierre Paulin I had a trill: It will be, sooner or later, my next HobbyTable.

It’s name is Tavis and is a re-edition of Ligne Roset that choosed modern materials as Black Satined Corian for the surface that wedges in a two drawers box in natural walnut. Faultless proportions, essential semplicity for an important lesson of style.

But… the questioni is: “Which is the right chair to link together?”

Pierre Paulin is one of the greater french designer, famous for an excuisite furniture collection and for his feature as interior decorator: he restructured Elysee Building in Paris and Mr. Francois Mitterand’s private studio.

Kamali

28 marzo 2010

Mrs. Norma Kamail belongs to that cotè of artists (Fiorucci, Sprouse, Thomass) who radically changed our point of wiew about style without subside in fashion system and without spend millions of dollars in advertising pages.

At the beginning of sixties she created “sleeping bag coat” and everyboby stocked something like it in his wardrobe. With OMO (On My Own) she invented the “second line” concept that is, just today, the core business of so many fashion maisons.

First, che focused that accessories, swimcoats, cosmetics could be so important, in the creative course of a designer, as well as an acclamated collection.

For these reasons Mrs. Kamali is one of the most representative fashion icon of America, so much “easy to wear”, not so much “preat a porter”: simple, fine, ironic: in a word stylish.

If you have the right shape, the right age, the right skincolour, buy on line one of this gorgeous lycra glossy swimsuits: everybody will point you and nobody will forget your audacity.

Otherwise, stay tuned with us… we are planning to dedicate many posts to Norma, one of our favorite designer.

Last night ms. Daul Kim was found hanged in her apartment in Paris. She was born 20 years ago in Seul and, in just five years of modeling, she gained the most important covers and catwalks. We will remember her clean, modern, discret beauty, her contemporary glamour and  her exquisite style.

STYLYOU mr. Nicholas Guesquiere

16 novembre 2009

Many compliments to one of the most innovative designer of this decade: Nicholas Guesquiere re-designed woman silhouette, re-junevate Balenciaga‘s couture but never compromised his look following fashion dictat… he is not a coverboy, not muscular, not tanned but he has a great phisique-du-role and is incredibly chic! This is STYLE!

the moto of my dreams

I think “she” is the sexiest two wheels on the street today. The Thruxton is Triumph’s sportiest Modern Classic, and authentic café racer delivering a unique Triumph experience. It’s a motorcycle to stir the hearts of those who remember it first time around and for young riders looking for that authentic retro experience that only Triumph can deliver. “Thruxy” is available in “Tornado Red” or “Jet Black”, but this “Cobalt Blue” is definitely the right choice!triumph161109

dedicated to mr. Testino

16 novembre 2009

Yesterday evening I was flicking through Testino’s Book “Let me In” and my first sensation was that, after 2 years from publication, it is still up to date! Mr. Testino is one of my favourite photographer just because his images do not feel time passing… and this is a big quality. Mario Testino’s photos are always a lesson of style for the wealth of colors, the force of expressions and for the semplicity of creative ideas.
